Best Used CPUs Under $150

These picks rank currently tracked CPUs by recent used-market price and relative gaming performance, then adjust for platform age, thread count, efficiency, and sales confidence. The shortlist requires at least 4 cores, 8 threads, a 2018 or newer release, and 5 qualified sales.

Rankings prefer the used 25th percentile when it exists, because that is usually more stable than a single low outlier sale. If the 25th percentile is missing, the ranking falls back to the used minimum.

How To Use This Guide

These rankings are strongest when you treat them like a shortlist, not a verdict.

Check Platform Cost Too

A cheap CPU on a dead-end socket can cost more overall once you price the motherboard and RAM. Older platforms are often the best used deals, but only if you already own compatible parts or can get them cheaply.

Use The Price Baseline Correctly

The page uses sold-listing data, not asking prices. Even then, a single unusually low sale can exist, which is why the guide prefers the 25th percentile when the site has enough volume.

Match Cores To Your Workload

Gaming-first builds can favor fewer, faster cores; production or streaming builds usually want more. The value score here leans on gaming performance, so click through for Cinebench multi-core numbers before you buy for productivity.

Click Through Before You Buy

Open the dedicated CPU page to check current percentile pricing, release year, and the used-price history. That is usually where a borderline pick proves itself or drops off the list.
